Not only will a facelift help your rental to attract more interest from applicants, but it can also help to set the standard for the tenants that you end up getting in your rental. Keeping your rental in good shape shows your tenants the type of condition that you expect them to keep it in as well, and encourages them to treat it right.

You don’t have to break the bank, tear down the walls, and upgrade every room in your house to make your rental more appealing. Here’s a look at some simple upgrades that can help your property to stand out.

Give It a Fresh Coat of Paint

There’s nothing like a fresh coat of paint! A new coat is one of the fastest and most cost-effective ways to instantly improve your rental’s interior. In fact, many landlords opt to paint the main living areas in between each tenant.

If you’re planning on doing the job yourself, just remember that the secret to a good coat of paint is largely in the prep work that you do. Don’t skimp on time, make sure the walls are...

Why We Love the South Side of Pittsburgh

Ask anyone who lives or has lived in Pittsburgh in the past and they will tell you that living on the South Side is living in a neighborhood where everyone knows and looks out for one another. They will tell you that no matter where you go, you will always find a familiar face when walking down the street.

Things to do on the South Side by Day

The South Side can be said to be the Greenwich Village of Pittsburgh. It is the city’s best walkable neighborhood. Things are pretty calm during the day, as those without 9 to 5 jobs wander the streets and go about their business.

They say the South Side is one of the few places where you regularly see both old ladies with blue hair and punk kids with blue hair. The working-class neighborhood turned into a popular destination many years back, as dive bars, record stores, funky coffee shops and lots of tattoo parlors began popping up.

One of our personal favorite spots on the South Side is the Beehive, one of the most awesome indie coffee shop we have found in any city.  You can also stop by the Milk Shake Factory for a variety of decadent shakes and sweets.

Best of all? The South Sider Riverfront Trail provides five miles of beautiful trail for hiking and cycling with stunning city views as well as a forest of trees. The trail connects with the Great Allegheny Passage, which goes all the way to...
