What Airbnb Guests Expect

What will Airbnb guests expect from renting properties? Great Airbnb hosts who want to ensure their guests have a comfortable stay, should be sure to provide a few key items for them. Although some of the things in this list may appear obvious, it is amazing how easy it is to forget the basics when worrying over the online listing or pricing structure. By including the items below, guests will enjoy a comfortable stay and be likely to recommend and highly rate the Airbnb property.

A comfortable bed
The big bed is something that all guests love and a comfortable night’s sleep is number one on the list when guests decide if they will go back or recommend any Airbnb.  Most guests usually are out and about visiting the area and the most time spent at the property is when it's time to sleep.  After a fun filled party at night they are looking for a fabulous night's sleep. Hosts should not scrimp when it comes to the bed, mattress, pillows and linens.  A restful night's sleep is top priority!

Tea and coffee making facilities
Although when guests are staying in an Airbnb they do not expect hotel standards, a few amenities will always be well received and help to enhance a stay. Hosts should try to provide a kettle and a small selection of teas, coffees, sugar and sweeteners. If there is a fridge in the property it is nice to leave some milk for the guest’s convenience when they first arrive. Alternatively a few small containers of long life milk would be suitable.  Guests will welcome the generosity and will be extremely happy to enjoy some coffee or tea after a long journey!

Fresh towels
Everyone loves a plentiful supply of fresh towels, and there should be a minimum of a towel per guest (or even 2 per guest). If they will be staying for more than a couple of days, it is best to provide more than one towel per person. Alternatively, many respectable Airbnbs offer a laundry service and drop off clean towels at some point during their guest's stay.  Setting the bar above the rest is key to happy campers and lots of excellent reviews!

TV and Wi-Fi
Although they may not have been a necessity before, all guests will expect to have these facilities during their stay. Wi-Fi can be particularly important if the property is hosting business guests, who may have important work to catch up on in the evenings. Equally, travellers from abroad may be keen to avoid large data roaming charges on their phones. They will therefore appreciate the ability to use the internet to research their activities for the next day.  Who are we kidding?  Any property with under functioning Wi-Fi will certainly be frowned upon.  It's the 21st Century - please tell me who doesn't have highly functioning Wi-Fi?

A local gift
Guests love to expect the unexpected, and who doesn't love a gift?  Although not a vital element this can certainly help to enhance a guest’s stay. If the area is well known for a particular food or product then leaving some out as a gift is a nice touch that can help a guest to feel welcomed. Alternatively, some nice chocolates or a tin of cookies will always be well received. If guests have had a long journey to get to the property then having something to snack on when they arrive is sure to lift their mood.  Airbnbs that think outside the box are the properties that guests will be sure to talk about with their friends and will surely submit a high rating on social media for all to see.  Who doesn't love to get more bang for the buck?  Who doesn't love to get treated like the Queen and King while traveling away from home?  A little extra always goes a long long way!
